Bordeaux largely abandoned Carmenère after phylloxera; Chile kept planting it and made it the country's signature red. Green peppercorn and dark berry fruit, with soft tannins and a savory, herbal edge that sets it apart from Cabernet. Bottled by San Leonardo Carmenère from the 2020 harvest. Serve at cool room temperature. Good with grilled red meat, roasted peppers, or barbecue.
