Barolo is Nebbiolo grown in a handful of villages in the Langhe hills of Piedmont, and it is one of Italy's two or three greatest reds. Rose petal and red cherry over a firm, grippy frame that softens considerably with time. Bottled by Renato Ratti from the 2021 harvest. This needs air — a good long decant, or several more years in the rack. Serve with brasato, mushroom risotto, or aged Piedmontese cheeses.
