Galatrona is Merlot grown at Petrolo, a historic estate in the hills of the upper Arno valley between Florence and Arezzo, and it is widely regarded as one of Italy's finest Merlots. Plum, black cherry, cocoa, and violets over a plush, dense texture and fine-grained tannins. Petrolo, 2021 vintage. Decant for an hour, or cellar it for several years. Pair with roast duck, beef Wellington, or porcini risotto.
