Grattamacco is one of the pioneering estates of Bolgheri on the Tuscan coast, and its Bolgheri Superiore is a longtime reference wine for the appellation, blending Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with a portion of Sangiovese. Expect blackcurrant, black cherry, Mediterranean herbs, graphite and spice, with dense, fine-grained tannins and freshness from the Sangiovese. Grattamacco, now owned by ColleMassari, 2022 vintage. Cellar it for several years, or decant for two hours. Serve with rack of lamb, bistecca, or roast game.
