By law a Brunello is 100% Sangiovese and cannot be sold until its fifth year after harvest, which is why even young bottles arrive already softened. The result is a wine of real structure: red fruit, savory herbs, and tannins that need either air or age. Tuscany's wine map has been redrawn repeatedly, most dramatically when the Super Tuscans broke the rules in the 1970s. Bottled by Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona from the 2020 harvest. Decant an hour ahead. Serve with bistecca, wild boar ragù, or aged pecorino.
