Solaia comes from the same Antinori estate in the Chianti Classico zone as Tignanello, and it was one of the original Super Tuscans. Where Tignanello is mostly Sangiovese, Solaia is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, with Cabernet Franc and a little Sangiovese. Expect cassis, black cherry, cedar, graphite and dark chocolate, with dense, polished tannins and real length. Antinori, 2020 vintage. Built for the long haul: cellar it, or give it a long decant if opening now. Serve with bistecca alla fiorentina, rack of lamb, or aged Parmigiano.
