Ribera del Duero is a high plateau along the Duero River in north-central Spain, where Tempranillo, here called Tinto Fino, makes structured, long-lived reds. Pesquera is the winery founded by Alejandro Fernández, which helped put the region on the international map. The Reserva is aged longer in barrel and bottle before release. Expect black cherry, plum, tobacco, leather and spice with firm tannins and a long finish. Tinto Pesquera, 2021 vintage. Decant for an hour. Pair with roast lamb, grilled steak, or Manchego.
