Old-vine Zinfandel from head-trained bush vines is one of California's genuine specialities. Brambly black and red fruit, sweet spice, and high alcohol carried by generous fruit. Sonoma is roughly twice Napa's size and considerably more diverse, running from the chilly coast to warm inland valleys. This one comes from Seghesio Sonoma. A brief decant helps. Made for barbecue, ribs, and anything smoky.
