Massaya Gold Reserve is the top red from Massaya, a Bekaa Valley estate founded by the Ghosn brothers with partners from Bordeaux and the southern Rhone. The Bekaa's high, sunny plateau gives rich, warm reds built on Bordeaux and Rhone varieties. Expect dark fruit, spice, and cedar, with the softened tannins and savory depth of an older bottle. Massaya, 2006 vintage. Stand it upright a day ahead and decant gently off the sediment. Serve with lamb kofta, roast leg of lamb, or grilled beef skewers.
