In the northern Rhône Syrah is elegant and peppery; in Australia, as Shiraz, it turns rich and sweet-fruited. Blackberry, olive, smoked meat and cracked pepper, with firm structure underneath. Argentine vineyards sit at some of the highest elevations in the wine world, where intense sunlight and cold nights thicken skins. This one comes from Los Ailos Syrah/Malbec. Serve at cool room temperature. Excellent with grilled lamb, peppered steak, and braised dishes.
