Hamel Family Wines farms organically and biodynamically in Sonoma Valley, and Nuns Canyon Vineyard sits high in the Mayacamas range, a rocky, volcanic mountain site. The wine is a Cabernet-based red with the concentration mountain fruit brings: blackcurrant, black cherry, graphite, dried herbs and cocoa, with firm, fine tannins. Hamel Family, 2018 vintage, now with some age behind it. Decant for an hour. Serve with grilled ribeye, rack of lamb, or aged cheddar.
