Rioja is Tempranillo-led, grown along the Ebro in northern Spain, and classified by how long it ages before release. Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva denote progressively longer maturation — which is why these wines arrive ready to drink. Spanish reds have moved decisively toward fruit and freshness in recent decades without abandoning their oak tradition. The 2019, under the El Coto label. No decanting needed; open and pour. Excellent with grilled lamb and hard sheep's cheese.
