The left bank favors Cabernet Sauvignon and gravel soils; the right bank favors Merlot and clay. Cassis, cedar, tobacco and graphite, with a structure built to reward keeping. Bottled by Château Lafite Rothschild Pauillac from the 2008 harvest. Serve at 62°F, decanted. Serve with lamb, beef, or hard cheese.
