Le Claux is a single-parcel Gigondas from Château de Saint Cosme, one of the oldest family estates in this southern Rhône appellation beneath the Dentelles de Montmirail. It is Grenache-based and shows a more concentrated, deeper side of Gigondas: kirsch, black raspberry, licorice and garrigue, with a stony, mineral frame and serious tannins. Château de Saint Cosme, 2022 vintage. This benefits from cellaring, or a long decant if opened young. Serve with roast lamb, braised beef cheeks, or game birds.
