Godello is a native white grape of northwest Spain, and Valdeorras in inland Galicia is its best-known home. Avancia is a project from importer Jorge Ordóñez focused on old-vine Godello from slate soils. Expect ripe pear, lemon, and white flowers with a creamy texture and a mineral finish. Avancia, 2023 vintage. Serve chilled but not icy. Pair with grilled octopus, roast chicken, or white fish in butter sauce.
