Campo de Borja in Aragón is often called the empire of Garnacha, and Bodegas Alto Moncayo works old, low-yielding vines on the slopes of the Moncayo massif. The result is a big, ripe Garnacha with kirsch, black raspberry, licorice and spice on a plush, full frame. Alto Moncayo, 2022 vintage. Open it an hour ahead and serve slightly below room temperature. Good with grilled lamb, chorizo, or a thick-cut ribeye.
