Cyrus is the flagship red of Alexander Valley Vineyards, the Wetzel family estate in Sonoma County's Alexander Valley, and it is a Bordeaux-style blend led by Cabernet Sauvignon. Alexander Valley is known for Cabernet with ripe, supple fruit, and Cyrus fits that mold: blackcurrant, black cherry, cocoa and cedar over polished tannins. Alexander Valley Vineyards, 2021 vintage. Decant for 30 minutes to an hour. Serve with grilled ribeye, roast leg of lamb, or aged cheddar.
