Vilafonte was founded by California winemaker Zelma Long and viticulturist Phil Freese, with vineyards in the Paarl area of South Africa's Cape. Seriously Old Dirt refers to the ancient, weathered soils there, and the wine is a Bordeaux-style red blend: blackcurrant, plum, cedar and a savory, earthy finish over fine tannins.
