Georgia has made wine for thousands of years, often fermenting white grapes on their skins in clay vessels called qvevri, which produces the amber-colored style now called orange wine. Kisi is a native white grape from Kakheti, in eastern Georgia. Expect dried apricot, orange peel, black tea and walnut, with a light grip of tannin. Rezo's, current release. Serve cool rather than cold. Good with roast chicken, khachapuri, or spiced lentil and vegetable dishes.
