Verdeca is a native white grape of Puglia, and Li Veli's Askos line is devoted to reviving old southern Italian varieties from the Salento peninsula. Grown near the sea in a hot, sunny climate, this one is fresh and Mediterranean: lemon, green apple, white flowers and a salty, herb-tinged finish. Li Veli, 2024 vintage. Serve chilled. Pair with grilled octopus, orecchiette with broccoli rabe, or fried calamari.
