Mencía is the red grape of Bierzo in northwest Spain, and in the village of Valtuille de Abajo, Raúl Pérez and local growers bottle individual old parcels under the La Vizcaína label. Las Gundiñas is one of them: black cherry, blueberry, violet, dried herbs and a fresh, mineral finish with fine tannins. La Vizcaína, 2024 vintage.
