This is a whiskey — its country, grain mix and cask regime decide most of its character, more than the broad category does. Sweetness, spice and oak balance all depend on how this particular whiskey was made — the label is the best guide. Bottled under the Hakata label. Good neat, over one large cube, or in a cocktail. Best enjoyed slowly, neat or with a splash of water.

The Sherry casks this whisky is aged in are kept in traditional style warehouses as well as a few open-air warehouses where they are exposed to humid summertime temperatures of 95°F and winter temperatures of around 38°F. As a result, the whisky is bold and almost classical in flavor, retaining a freshness that is truly unique.
