George Remus was a Cincinnati lawyer turned Prohibition bootlegger, widely believed to have been part of the inspiration for Fitzgerald's Gatsby — hence the name of this annual limited release. Fifteen years is a long haul for bourbon; at that age the oak becomes a dominant voice and the whiskey turns dry, deep, and tannic in the way old bourbon does. A yearly bottling that doesn't return once it's gone.
