Ca' Marcanda is the Gaja family's Tuscan estate in Bolgheri, and Promis is its entry-level red, blending Merlot, Syrah and Sangiovese from vineyards a few miles from the sea. It is plush but fresh: ripe plum, black cherry, spice and Mediterranean herbs over smooth tannins. Ca' Marcanda, 2023 vintage. Serve slightly cool; decant briefly if young.
