Mille e Una Notte — 'a thousand and one nights' — is Donnafugata's top red, grown around Contessa Entellina in western Sicily and led by Nero d'Avola, the island's key red grape. It is rich and layered: black cherry, plum, carob, sweet spice and Mediterranean herbs over ripe, velvety tannins. Donnafugata, 2021 vintage. Decant for an hour. Serve with lamb stew, grilled beef, or aged Sicilian pecorino.
