Frappato is a light, fragrant red grape from southeastern Sicily, around the town of Vittoria, and Donnafugata's Bell'Assai is a pure, fresh expression of it. Expect strawberry, red cherry, pomegranate, rose and a hint of white pepper, with very soft tannins. Donnafugata, 2024 vintage. Serve lightly chilled, around 55–58°F. Pair with grilled salmon, tomato-based pasta, or a board of salumi.
