Elpidios is the red blend from David and Nadia Sadie, a husband-and-wife team working with old, dry-farmed vineyards in South Africa's Swartland region. It draws on Mediterranean varieties such as Syrah, Grenache and Carignan. The style is fresh and medium-bodied rather than heavy: red and dark berries, dried herbs, a hint of pepper and fine, gentle tannins. David & Nadia, 2022 vintage. Serve slightly cool. Pair with grilled lamb chops, bobotie, or a charcuterie board.
