Colgin Cellars is one of Napa Valley's most sought-after names, and IX Estate is its red from the estate on Pritchard Hill, above Lake Hennessey. It is a Cabernet Sauvignon-led blend with other Bordeaux varieties. Cassis, blackberry, violet, graphite, and dark chocolate, with a dense, polished texture and a long finish. Colgin, 2021 vintage. Best after several more years in the cellar; if opening now, decant for two hours. Serve with prime rib, lamb, or aged Gouda.
