Giscours is a Margaux Third Growth, classified in 1855, with a large estate in the southern part of the appellation. The grand vin is a Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend in the Margaux style — perfume and elegance over power: cassis, black cherry, violet, cedar and fine tannins. Château Giscours, 2016 vintage. Decant for an hour, or keep cellaring. Serve with lamb with rosemary, beef Wellington, or roast duck.
