Vintage Armagnac is one of the very few spirits sold by year of distillation, which makes a bottle like this the standard gift for a landmark birthday or anniversary. This one was distilled in 1966 and has spent the intervening decades in Gascon oak, where slow evaporation concentrated it into something layered with dried fruit, prune, and rancio. Serve at room temperature in a tulip glass, in small measures.
