Castello Banfi farms a large estate on the southern slopes of Montalcino, and Cum Laude is its Tuscan red blend, pairing Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Expect dark cherry, plum and a little cocoa, with the international grapes adding depth and Sangiovese keeping it lively. Banfi, 2022 vintage. Give it half an hour of air and serve slightly below room temperature. Good with grilled ribeye, pappardelle with wild boar ragù, or aged pecorino.
