Turriga is Argiolas's flagship and one of Sardinia's best-known reds, a blend led by Cannonau (the island's Grenache) with other native grapes such as Carignano and Bovale, from the hills of Serdiana north of Cagliari. It is rich and Mediterranean: black cherry, dried fig, myrtle, licorice and sweet spice on a broad, velvety frame. Argiolas, 2020 vintage. Decant for an hour. Serve with roast suckling pig, lamb with rosemary, or aged pecorino sardo.
