Agricola Punica is a partnership between Sardinia's Cantina di Santadi and Tenuta San Guido, the Bolgheri estate behind Sassicaia. Barrua is its top red from the Sulcis area in the island's southwest, led by old-vine Carignano with Bordeaux grapes: black cherry, myrtle, licorice, spice and ripe, velvety tannins. Agricola Punica, 2021 vintage. Decant for an hour. Serve with roast lamb, suckling pig, or aged pecorino sardo.
